Enervolution works on the rules and architectures that govern sustainable carbon value chains between Europe and partner regions, and on concrete project-level concepts for industrial defossilisation.
- Strategic assessment of sustainable biomass and biogenic carbon resources for e-fuels, SAF, methanol and other renewable drop-in fuels.
- Design of governance and allocation frameworks for cross-border sustainable carbon value chains between Europe and partner regions, balancing external demand with domestic priorities for energy access, food systems, land use and rural development.
- Support to DFIs, EU institutions, GIZ and regional bodies such as the African Union on policies, standards and investment screening that ensure externally sourced carbon feedstocks are environmentally robust, socially legitimate and compatible with partner countries’ long-term strategies.
- Advisory services for industrial companies in chemicals, pharmaceuticals, textiles, plastics and related sectors on technically and economically coherent defossilisation pathways, including biomass-to-X routes (for example gasification plus Fischer–Tropsch) that can operate initially on sustainable biomass and residues and later integrate green hydrogen as it becomes cost-competitive, maximising carbon utilisation.
Rural electrification and the water–energy–food nexus
Building on long experience in microgrids, productive uses of energy and digital agriculture, Enervolution supports integrated approaches to rural electrification and resource governance.
